Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag does not want to be too concerned about the injuries suffered by striker Rasmus Hojlund and defender Leny Yoro ahead of the start of the English Premier League on August 16.
“It’s part of football… injuries are unavoidable,” Ten Hag said on the sidelines of a pre-season match in the United States, as reported by the club’s official website on Friday (2/8) local time.
“But of course, we have to be ready as a club and as a team to deal with this and the players are dealing with this very well. They are very positive, they will recover and they will be back,” said the former Ajax coach.

In addition to Yoro and Hojlund, MU is also threatened with losing Marcus Rashford and Antony Matheus due to injuries in the pre-season match. For that reason, Ten Hag does not want to be reckless by fielding the two players in a friendly match against Liverpool on Sunday (4/8).
“We don’t want to take any risks in the last match of this tour,” he said. “We will see if they are ready for the last game against Liverpool.”
Previously, new MU defender Leny Yoro was estimated to be out for up to three months due to an injury during a pre-season match in the United States against Arsenal on Sunday (28/7).
In the match against Arsenal, Yoro only played 35 minutes before being withdrawn by coach Erik ten Hag due to a fractured metatarsal injury.
MU will soon play the Community Shield match against Manchester City on August 10. Without Yoro, MU will field their old squad including defenders Jonny Evans, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof.
