Philippe Clement, the coach of elite Scottish club Rangers, has received a new contract until 2028 because he is considered successful in rebuilding the squad of the club from the city of Glasgow.
The Belgian coach who just took charge of Rangers in October 2023 managed to present one Scottish League Cup title in his first season. At that time, Rangers won 1-0 over Aberdeen thanks to a single goal from James Tavernier.
The former AS Monaco tactician managed to record a record of 14 unbeaten matches in all competitions. Rangers also managed to finish in second place, below their eternal rivals Celtics, last season.
“I fell in love with this club, with the fans, the stadium and the city. I see great potential, and now we need to make this club better and stronger in every line. That is our goal, and we all really agree,” Philippe Clement said on the Rangers’ official website, Saturday.

One of the keys to Philippe Clement’s success in building the Rangers squad is his ability to work optimally with Nils Koppen who serves as director of player recruitment.
“I have a very open and transparent relationship with the board in every meeting we have. You feel the passion and desire to make the club better, and I feel the same,” he said. The
management’s support for Philippe Clement has been evident in the transfer market, where Rangers have recruited nine new players, including: Robin Propper, Vaclav Cerny, Hamza Igamane, Jefte, Clinton Nsiala, Liam Kelly, Connor Barron, Oscar Cortes and Mohamed Diomande.
“Our ambition is clear, to rebuild the Rangers first team in the long term and the short term,” said Rangers director John Bennett.
