The Moroccan U-23 national team advanced to the semifinals of the 2024 Paris Olympics in men’s soccer after crushing the United States team in the quarter-finals with a score of 4-0 at the Parc des Princes Stadium, Paris, Friday.
In this match, Morocco’s victory came thanks to goals scored by Sofiane Rahimi, Ilias Akhomach, Achraf Hakimi and El Mehdi Maouhoub, according to Olympic records.
Morocco will then face the winner of the quarter-final match between Japan and Spain in the semifinals at the Marseille Stadium, Marseille, Monday at 21:30 IST.

Morocco immediately took the initiative to attack in the first half and had the opportunity to threaten through Akhomach’s kick, but it was blocked by US goalkeeper Patrick Schulte.
A golden opportunity finally came for Morocco after getting a penalty kick from the referee and Soufiane Rahimi who stepped up as the executioner successfully carried out his task well so that the score changed to 1-0 in the 29th minute.
In the remaining time of the first half, Morocco continued to try to increase its lead by attacking the US defense line, but until halftime, the score remained 1-0.

Entering the second half, Morocco again took the initiative to attack and was able to increase its lead in the 63rd minute through a goal scored by Akhomach.
Starting from an accurate pass from Abde Ezzalzouli, the ball was received by Akhomach who then broke into Schulte’s goal so that the score changed to 2-0.
Only seven minutes later, Morocco became increasingly unstoppable by creating a goal when Achraf Hakimi’s individual action resulted in the third goal so that the score changed to 3-0.
Towards the end of the match, Morocco had a chance to increase their lead after the referee again awarded a penalty for a US player who handled the ball in the penalty box.
This time Morocco’s penalty kick was executed by El Mehdi Maouhoub in the 90+1 minute and changed the score to 4-0. The score remained until the end of the match.
