Marseille’s hopes of securing Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal seem unlikely to materialize in the near future. Most recently, the Gunners have just rejected a €27 million offer from Les Phoceens for their academy player.
Marseille have actually raised their offer to bring Nketiah to the Velodrome in this summer’s transfer market. Previously, they opened the offer at 20 million Euros. Fabrizio Romano claims there is a new offer with a valuation of 7 million higher than before.

But Arsenal rejected the approach. Although Nketiah is said to have personally agreed to join the port team, the Gunners’ request still cannot be met. The North London team is said to only want to release their player if there is a minimum offer of 50 million Euros.
Marseille will clearly have to make a fresh offer for the player if they don’t want to be overtaken by other English teams who want his services. According to L’Equipe, they are ready to make a new approach to convince Arsenal to let their mainstay go.
Marseille do need another striker even though they have just secured Mason Greenwood. Nketiah is another priority for them. Last season, the Englishman rarely played. However, he still managed to score 6 goals and three assists from 37 matches played across competitions.`
