Manchester United coach Eric ten Hag believes Arne Slot will be successful with Liverpool because the Merseyside club already has a strong football foundation instilled by Juergen Klopp.
Ten Hag believes Arne only needs to mix his own playing style with Juergen Klopp’s attacking football philosophy that is already very well understood by the Liverpool squad.
“I think he is in a pretty good place, because the structure is good, the players are good, and Klopp’s playing style is of course very cool and very successful,” Ten Hag said on the sidelines of a pre-season match in the United States, on the MU website on Friday.
“I’m sure Arne with his skills can make a contribution. There will be elements of Klopp’s playing style, but he will also bring his own elements,” Ten Hag said.
“If they can combine the two, they have a very good chance of success,” said the former Ajax tactician.

Ten Hag then hopes his team learns from the “setbacks and progress” last season. In the Premier League last season they finished eighth, Manchester United’s worst position since 1990.
However, they also won the FA Cup by beating Manchester City 2-1.
Ten Hag also wants to make the work ethic in the FA Cup last season a new standard for Manchester United next season.
“That is only possible if the players have the attitude, when it should be the norm, and when it is the standard,” he said.
“And I think they did it on the day, they grew above that level. Now we understand that we can actually be at that level as individuals and as a team,” he concluded.
