Napoli’s Di Lorenzo Out for Lazio Match Due to Injury

Di Lorenzo Out of Napoli’s Match Against Lazio Due to Injury

Giovanni Di Lorenzo will not participate in Napoli’s upcoming clash with Serie A leaders Lazio on Sunday, as tests have confirmed a thigh injury. An examination revealed that the Napoli captain has sustained a strain of the long adductor muscle in his left thigh. The diagnosis came after scans conducted at Pineta Grande Hospital, and Di Lorenzo has already begun his rehabilitation process. Napoli has not disclosed a timeline for his recovery.

Napoli injury list grows before Lazio as Di Lorenzo misses out

This marks yet another setback for Massimiliano Allegri, as Napoli recently suffered a defeat against Porto in the Champions League and currently occupies the 10th position in Serie A with 14 points.

Di Lorenzo adds to an injury list that already includes Stanislav Lobotka, who is out for around six weeks, along with Alessandro Buongiorno, Benoit Badiashile, Leonardo Spinazzola, David Neres, Costantino Favasuli, and Alisson Santos.

However, Napoli received some positive news with Mathías Olivera returning to full training and being available for the match this weekend.

Napoli will host Lazio at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium on Sunday, with the match kicking off at 12:30 CET [11:30 GMT]. Gennaro Gattuso’s team holds a three-point lead at the top of the table after last weekend’s 2-1 win over Cagliari, while Napoli finds themselves trailing by 14 points.

The upcoming international break may grant Di Lorenzo some additional time to recuperate.
