Headline: Valenciennes Fans Use Circus Music to Protest Team’s Performance
Fans of Valenciennes demonstrated their dissatisfaction with the team’s performance during Thursday’s (5) match against Orléans, which ended in a 2–2 draw. In an unconventional display of protest, supporters played circus music throughout the stadium.
Valenciennes currently sits in 15th place out of 18 clubs in the Championnat National, France’s fourth division. The team finished ninth in the 2024/25 season but slipped to 10th in 2025/26, remaining distant from any hopes of promotion to the third division.
As fans ponder whether this tactic might catch on, the spotlight now turns to which teams in Brazilian football might adopt this whimsical form of protest.
