Headline: Pochettino Makes Changes to USMNT Roster Ahead of Nations League Quarterfinals
Mauricio Pochettino has made adjustments to his United States men’s national team ahead of the CONCACAF Nations League quarterfinals against Haiti due to two key injuries. The latest player to withdraw is Giovanni Reyna, who netted a goal for Strasbourg last Friday but subsequently left the match with an injury. Reyna is passing up his place in this month’s USMNT camp for another high-performing European-based player.
Jack McGlynn from the Philadelphia Union has emerged as one of the standout players in the Football League Championship. He currently has Stoke City in contention for a Premier League promotion, boasting five goals and two assists across 14 appearances.
This update follows the addition of Toulouse defender Mark McKenzie to the national team, who joined after West Brom’s George Campbell sustained an injury.
The headline performance came as McGlynn scored for Stoke against Portsmouth, a day after Reyna achieved a goal for Strasbourg. While the goal McGlynn scored may not match his earlier striking efforts this season, it was an effective contribution nonetheless.
At 23 years old, the Queens native has made two goals and two assists in 13 appearances for the USMNT. However, he has not started since the second match of the 2025 Gold Cup and has not been called up since September 2025.
As for Reyna, he is now regularly starting for Ligue 1 side Strasbourg and has tallied three goals, even after scoring against Toulouse on Friday before having to leave the match, seemingly favoring his upper leg.
