Le Havre AC Denies Contact with Antoine Kombouaré for Managerial Position
Le Havre AC has clarified that they are not in discussions with former FC Nantes and Paris FC coach Antoine Kombouaré regarding their vacant managerial position, according to a report from RMC Sport. There had been strong speculation linking him with the role at the Normand club.
Earlier reports from Paris-Normandie had suggested that Le Havre was in advanced negotiations with Kombouaré, who has been without a club since parting ways with Paris FC over the summer. He has developed a reputation for steering clubs clear of relegation trouble, a feat he accomplished at Paris FC before being succeeded by Liam Rosenior.
Le Havre finds itself in dire need of a manager with such experience, as the club currently resides at the bottom of Ligue 1 with merely two points from their first nine matches. This poor performance led to the dismissal of Didier Digard. Following this decision, which appeared to be made by the owners, club president Jean-Michel Roussier resigned, and sporting director Demba Ba has also left.
In light of these developments, RMC Sport reports that Kombouaré has not been approached for the managerial vacancy. Jair Karam is set to take charge of the team during this weekend’s match against FC Lorient.
